I’m not a natural talking head. (Not to be confused with Talking Heads—I love David Byrne and the band…) What I don’t love so much is the sound of my own voice, making appearances, or what
calls “being perceived.” But as the publication of my memoir draws nearer, I will be out there doing media stuff and will occasionally share what feels most relevant here. However—I do not want to overwhelm anyone. We are in an age of information saturation. On this platform alone, there are simply too many great newsletters and podcasts that it sometimes feels like my head will explode.
A few months back I recorded this interview about all things neurodivergent parenting with Kate Lynch at . We covered so much ground—from the joys and struggles of parenting a neurodivergent child to navigating your own diagnosis as an adult. We talked coping mechanisms and the evolution of sensory profiles, the importance of connection and radical acceptance, and shared some fun personal stories along the way. If you prefer, you can also watch here.
More recently, I talked with Catherine Asta at The Late Discovered Club about being diagnosed late in life, the impact of masking and burnout, disclosure and the challenges of navigating healthcare and the workplace, the long road toward identification and self-acceptance, and more. You can listen here.
I hope something in these conversations hits home with you, whether you are neurodivergent, a parent, or simply an ally. Feel free to let me know in the comments.
